System Requirements for Vista

I have ordered the Viata and it should be here in 3 weeks. My system is P 4, 1.6 Ghz processor, 512 MB RD Ram and SIS Agp card with 32 MB. Will a 64 MB AGP card suffice for the Vista Installation. Please somebody advise.

My guess is that it's slow, I'm running with the following set up and while performance is adequate, it's also much slower than it should be (noticibly slower than XP)
AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ 1.5GB DDR 400 PCI Express 16x Geforce 7800GT 300GB SATA HD
I for sure wouldn't try running glass, infact if MS did their job's they won't let glass load up on that system.

Thank you Carlo, Please tell me if getting a 64 MB AGP will be ok or do I need a 128 MB AGP Card. I cannot upgrade the Processor or Ram because of system limitations. My motherboard will support upto 1.8 GHz processor and my Ram is RD Ram which is not available currently in this part of the world. Please advise. Regards, Farid

Yes, even a 32 MB card suffices: I successfully installed and run Vista Beta 2 on a 1.6 GHz CPU (Sempron 2800+) with 512 MB RAM and a Matrox G400 32 MB AGP - without Aero/Glass, of course. (No actual high speed games, but Google Earth:-)
But be careful: Vista needs a clean NTFS partition with at least 20 (minimum 15) GB on a 7200 Rpm HDD. And 512 MB is not enough for smooth work - 1024 MB RAM is a realistic minimum for working with applications...
A 64 MB AGP card is not capable of Aero/Glass (I tried it in vain with both a 64 MB GeForce4 MX440 and a 64 MB Quadro NVS 280 AGP!). You definitely need a DirectX 9.0 card with 128 MB VRAM - see, e.g., <http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsvista/evaluate/hardware/vistarpc.mspx> with further links.
But Vista is fine even without Aero/Glass, at least in the long run;-)

i dont think a 64MB agp card would be good enough, you will be able to load vista but it wont allow you to load all the goodies
